Four Fun Free Fonts

In April my hard drive crashed and was unretrievable. Luckily all my pictures were on an external drive, so I was good there, but I did lose all my fonts that I had been collecting for years! I've been trying to find them ever since, but some are gone forever! (how's that for dramatic!)

The silver lining to this silly little trial is that in an attempt to find lost fonts, I've found new ones! And I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you.

I've been in a clean, open, sans serif mood of late and so was really excited to add these four new fonts to my collection. Click on the images to link to the place where you can download the fonts for free.

I found all of these on a new free font site, Font Squirrel (now, isn't that just cute? Just what I am...squirreling away my favorite fonts!).

If you're not sure how to add fonts to your font folder, follow the steps below. I know there are many ways to do this, but this is my way.

This is what most free download font pages look like. Just look for the free download button.

Go to your start menu and open the control panel.

Look for and open the font folder.

Go back to the font page, choose download and a window will open asking if you want to open or save the file. Choose open. This way you can extract and save the file without having to go back later to do it.

A window/file will pop up. Choose 'extract all files'.

Another window will pop up to extract the files, keep choosing next until you get to the finish button. Choose it and another window will open with all the extracted files.

Select and drag to the font folder.

It's that easy...you're done. Open a word document and type away in your new, cool fonts!
