60% off and 100% perfect

I was in the Sandy Roberts a few weeks ago and my friend, Paula, who is always so on top of things and just a big awesome help, pointed out some adorable valentine paper by Making Memories, that was 60% off.

I have a hard time resisting just about anything that is 60% off. But I stood there, paper in hand, turning it this way and that and basically designing a card in my head.

"Valentine's is over, but this would work for a Wedding card...Those hearts would be really easy to cut out and have so much pretty detail."

I did the math. "21 hearts from each sheet of paper. 10 cards for .32 cents...plus the other paper, cardstock etc..., still really, less than .50 a card. Not including the envelope. Darn! Those square envelopes are so expensive!"

Yes, I really had all those thoughts as I stood in front of the paper turnstile, looking rather zombie-like.

I love it when I have an idea, go home and actually do it. Right away. Card club is always a great excuse to get cracking with cards. I took the hearts to bed. Made a big paper mess and finished everything up the next morning. Cutting it close, but I made it.

Since I bought more than 1 sheet of hearts, guess what? I made extra cards and I would love to share a few of them with you. Tell me about the best deal you got in a scrapbooking store and I'll send cards off to the winners. Be sure to check back and email me with your mailing address. I'll be posting the winners on Wednesday night. Good luck!

Love this card Susan! Way to use that clearance paper!
It's really hard to remember the best deal I've gotten in a scrapbook store because I've been doing this for 16 years and I've done a lot of shopping and have gotten a lot of great deals. I love a good deal and it's hard to pass them up when I see them. I'd have to say one of them was getting clearance Bazzill at Robert's a couple of years ago for like 10 cents a sheet or those rub-ons in the tins for $1.20 or maybe it was the all the awesome deals at the American Crafts sale or the Quickutz at their warehouse sale. I could go on and on!

I love the paper! I love the card! So Cute!!

I guess my best deal was the 8x8 pack of Bo Bunny paper that I got free for my $50 or more purchase at Archivers last year. (Okay, so spending $50 bucks to get free paper doesn't sound like a deal...but I can rarely get out of Archivers for LESS than $50...and the paper is so stinkin' cute!! I've made tons of paper purses out of it!! LOL)

Cute card ... way to think outside the holiday! :) One of my favorite ways to get 'deals' is through the LSS garage sale. Everything is "free" since I get store credit, plus my stash gets cleaned - LOL.

I got some flower paper last year at the Clinton Robert's for like .20 cents a sheet to use for card swap. With the few embellishments on the card, each card cost me like .30 cents each to make.

I am a deal hunter from the word go. At Joanns the people who work there tell me I find better deals than they get :) I especially love using their 40% and 50% coupons plus in the month of march I had another coupon for 20% off the entire order, even clearance which was 70% off already. I spent a lot of time in the store and I got some great deals on closeouts stamps, paper accessories, embellishments plus wedding gifts and much more. I think that they are some of the best deals I have gotten retail but I have gotten some great ones from warehouse sales as well. One of the guys an the American Crafts sale said I could have as much ribbon that I could shove into a box he gave me for 25.00. Well thats my kind of challenge and I shoved every square inch until I had over $100.00 worth wholesale in my box. Yes I was proud as a peacock and he got a good laugh. I love your cards (whats new?) so I hope I am a lucky winner :)

Love the card!
Here is my best deal that wasn't my deal. A few friends always remind me to bring my Quickutz for the shapes and alphabets. We happened to be in Clinton Roberts when they were clearing out their products. Being there at the right time... purchased the hand tool for 90% off! I had two very happy friends that night!

The most recent thing I bought was the Making Memories jars in various sizes to hold my scrapbook items. My friend Karen told me she uses the large jars to store her small rubber stamps...so guess where my small stamps are going! I got them at 50% off last week at Roberts.
