Q's Creative Class: My Life's Journey Album

I'm so, so happy to finally show you this project I've been working on and off for several months.

It finally came together, mainly because it simply had to.  That's how deadlines work. :)

My classes often take months to create.  Sometimes they start with a sketch, sometimes with an idea, or some beautiful paper I simply have to use.

This was a combination of all of those and more.  Skip below to read and see all the wonderful details.  I hope you love it as much as I do.

My Life's Journey Album

For mailorder, please add shipping from the drop-down menu.  Kits will start shipping August 1st.

My Life's Journey Album measures 10" x 6 1/2" x 1" thick and has 6 inside boards for a total of 14 usable pages. The album is ring and ribbon bound, so you can add a few more pages if you'd like.

This album is all about you, me, us.  An opportunity to celebrate everything that makes you YOU...to quote one of my quotes in the album, "The Privilege of a lifetime is being who YOU are." ~ Gandhi.  I love that.  Who else will be you, if not you?

As crafters, card makers and memory keepers, we are often the very last person we give anything to.  Here's your chance to do just that.  Create something incredibly personal and indelible.  But wait, it's not hard, I promise!  I've created pre-printed pages, divided into life's journey with helpful prompts to make the whole writing process something you could do on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

So many wonderful details to this album...unique brass metal pieces, glitter, shabby-chic-ing ribbon for a very vintage look and adding some 'life' to our album with some new techniques and a 'secret' recipe...

Of course, the very BEST part of this album are YOUR photos.  But don't panic.  You only really need to bring the cover photos to class.  You can finish up the rest of the photos at your leisure.

Please bring a 3" x 4" picture for the large frame and a smaller 2" x 1 1/2" photo as well.  I used a baby picture for the large photo and current photo for the small one.  However, you can use whichever photos you'd like.

It will be possible to complete the album without the photos, but it'll be more fun to have them there.  You have a whole month to collect them!

What to bring - Please pay close attention to this list, as the needs are a little different than normal classes.

Adhesive:  You will need a heavy duty adhesive for this album, we do, afterall, want it to last forever!  I recommend 1/2" Scotch ATG tape gun, but anything you have that is strong will work.  Also, foam squares, mini glue dots and regular roll-type tape.

Fine Grade Sanding block.  I recommend getting one at the hardware store.  It'll make quick work on this project.

Frayed Burlap Distress Ink Pad and stamping sponge.

Lime Green Stickles by Ranger (you can email and order this from me asap)

Small Paint brush (Small Niji Waterbrush or similar would work as well)

Copic markers (Pale Olice YG95 and Putty YG91), OR similar colors in other markers OR I will have a few sets to share in class.

non-stick craft mat (I will have one for you to use if you don't have one)

12" trimmer.  Bone folder to score and fold with.

micro hole punch (about 1/16")

If you have any questions, please email me.  Thanks!  Sue
