My son posted this video on Facebook and I knew I had to share it with you.
Despite having done this very thing about 2 weeks ago...wait, what? Susan BOUGHT a card??? Ok, I'll interupt this thought to explain, otherwise I know I'll hfdear no end to it once my classes start up in September.
Yes, I bought a card. I will say it's the only card I've bought in probably 5 years. I bought one before that too, the 5 years before that. Interestingly, both cards were for my sons. This most recent one was for my son who lives in the Memphis area. I kind for forgot to buy him a gift, so I thought I could make up for it by sending him one of those talking, singing cards. I was, NO KIDDING, a good half hour in the aisle, doing pretty much what Kevin James was making fun of in the video.
So, think about this fellow card makers. THINK about how much time (and emotional energy) we save by making our own cards. Now, doesn't that feel good? Just my happy thought for the day. :)

Studio 5 Sneak-peek for May
It's that time again...I will be on Studio 5 tomorrow! Tuesday, May 17 at 11am on Channel 5 here in Salt Lake City. Got two exciting segments planned and I would LOVE it you could try and guess what they are...

Just leave a comment on this post with your guess and I'll pick a winner after the show (I tried to make is easy this time gals...so GUESS!)
Oh, and I'm not sure I want to share this with you. I'm quite prepared to be completely embarrassed...but Studio 5 has asked me to participate in their version of Minute to Win it. It'll be late in the show if you want to catch it.
Frankly, I'm terrified! My biggest worry is that I won't have the stamina to actually do it! I have very weak arms, carpal tunnel and all sorts of other arm issues. If I do make it through it I'm sure my arms will be useless for days. LOL

I have to unroll two 500 rolls of using only my hands and arms. If you'd like to see just what they are MAKING me do, watch here and here. Then pray for me :)

I'm impressed and amused
Steve came to me early this week and said "I need to get a card for my Mom". I said "yup.". It was Mother's Day on Sunday, afterall.
A few minutes later he comes into my office and says "I think I'll make her a card". I said rather calmly, "good idea", but inside I was doing a little dance! My husband wants to MAKE a card! See how I've rubbed off on him :)

A little while later he comes back into my office with this lovely card. I read it. Sweet. Wow, I'm so impressed. It's so sweet and loving and sensitive. She'll love it.
And then I opened it.

Now, really. I debated on sharing this with y'all. This is most likely the MOST unattractive picture of my husband. In real life he is quite handsome, if not a little scruffy.
But it so clearly speaks to why I love him and why we're still happily married after 28 years.
He makes me laugh. And his Mom too, I'm sure.

I had something all ready to share with you today, until I ran into this video. Priceless. Especially for us card-makers.

Good Housekeeping Tip
Always keep several get well cards on the mantle...
So if unexpected guests arrive, They will think you've been sick and unable to clean...
{thanks Karen!}

Panic! I didn't have any get well cards for this subterfuge! So, I found my one and only "Get Well" stamp and made this one.
Problem. No mantle and my house is clean! :) But I still needed some Get Well cards.
P.S. I enjoyed reading all your scrapbooking views, glad to know I'm not alone in my struggles. I randomly picked a winner of the Creating Keepsakes issue and a copy of the card that was featured...Congratuations Elaine (comment #1). Please email me your address so I can get this in the mail.
And no Jen...collecting scrapbooking supplies does NOT count as actual scrapbooking :).
Elaine; keep working on those photography skills (maybe a new camera?) or could your camera be on manual focus instead of automatic?
LeAnn; We did! But that was a year ago (Pear Card)...but I will, I promise, include this technique this year sometime.
Thanks ladies!
