Blingy Christmas Card & Give-away

I was walking through Roberts Crafts a couple of weeks ago, salivating at all the wonderful Christmas decor already on sale when I spotted an unusual spray. It was covered in crystal flowers. I thought it looked familiar and remembered that a few manufacturers in the scrapbooking industry are selling these exact flower crystals in different sizes and colors.

Curious, I started counting (it was quick, I'm a little rainman in that department) and figured the cost per crystal. Deal! I put it in my cart and used my 40% discount and felt pretty pleased with myself!

Fortunately, these come off the spray really easily with some snip scissors. Two crystals are sandwiched together with a little wire, so once snipped they just fall apart.

I knew I wanted to use these for my card group cards, as I thought they would make a cute tree topper. When I found this paper from Basic Grey I knew I had my card. This paper just screams to be cut into cute little trees!

One little glue dot and some Ice Stickles (from Ranger) dobbed in the middle and this card had all the bling it needed.

I've been playing with these crystals and there are tons of possiblities. I took some crochet thread and knotted a little center. I wired a bead through the center and if you have a super tiny brad that would work too. Unfortunately, the hole in the center of the crystal is pretty tiny, so reg. brads didn't work.

So, since I now have a TON of these cuties, I thought I would share them with you. I would love to hear or see what you end up doing with them. So please leave a comment here and next week I'll choose a few winners!

How about using them on the BLING Christmas trees that you demonstrated on TV. I would put them on tags for Christmas gifts or any other tags. Cute idea!

These would be great on a spring card, especially a spring birthday card or Valentines Day card where you use a flower stamp. This would accent some of the stamped flowers. Since my birthday is in the spring - March - these would be great for me!

Sue, as you posted your (very cute) Christmas tree cards, I thought about snowflakes. (Not that I see too many of 'em anymore since I moved back to Florida.) I could just see those cute little flowers in the middle of die cut glittery snowflakes.

I'm still trying to Embrace The Bling. For now, I just lifted your idea for that Basic Grey Wassail paper. Made some tags for my card group -- thanks for the inspiration!

Oh wow! I love what you did with them! They would look great as part (or all) of an earring, or threaded together with some Christmas beads for a bracelet. I used to dabble a bit in jewelry making, now hubby is after me to sell all of my beads. Lately I can't help but come up with ways to use beads just to show him that I shouldn't get rid of anything!

This is such a creative idea. I took your Christmas card class at Roberts and loved the ideas you shared, not to mention the darling cards. I would never have thought to use the floral spray that way. You have wonderful ideas. Thanks

These Christmas cards are fabulous Susan! Love the playful design with the paper trees and how you've used these crystal flowers. What a great find! They would have made a great accent on a recent altered project I made; the paper I used had some similar shaped flowers on it.

I love your cards. I can think of so many ways to use these. Flower centers, snowflakes, accents on christmas cards, stars on congradulation cards or "You Are A Star" card, $th of July. I could go on and on.... Jill S

These are so stinkin Awesome!!!
I would use them on some of my gifts or my ornaments that I give away on my gifts.
I love the bling on the top of those trees.
I would make matching tags to go with those cards along with some glitter snow and flakes falling silently, ever so soft to the ground.
